Electrolux’s Pronto – perfect for Spa laundry!

Marcia Klaric contemplated opening a wellness center and day spa in Evans City about 35 miles north east of Pittsburgh with her partner Rock Arkie, she looked at all aspects of the business. She invested in the highest quality furnishings and spa equipment she could find and hired an excellent staff all experienced and licensed in their various disciplines.

As the business “OSIRIS Wellness and Day Spa” grew, so did her need to find a viable cost-effective solution to one of her highest operating expenses outside of her personnel. In a thriving day spa environment, laundry can be one of the most burdensome and costly aspects of the business. While Marcia had taken attention to all aspects of her business, as the client flow increased so did the daily laundry. ”For a time there we had exhausted one laundry services ability to keep up and were on the last threads of a relationship with another,” says Marcia. “Our demands required that we outsource approximately 60 percent of our laundry while we had to keep our spa’s small washer and dryer running almost full time just to keep up.”

In the spring of 2010, Marcia and Rock were invited to attend a Pronto seminar by Ryan Aguglia of M&L Supply, authorized Electrolux Professional Laundry distributer for Pittsburgh, PA.  Marcia and Rock knew that the Electrolux Pronto with its unique dry to dry capabilities could be a one stop solution to their laundry problem. Dry to Dry means the load goes in dry and comes out dry, the operator never has to handle wet linen, towels, and robes.

“There is no other machine sold in North America like the Pronto,” says Ryan. “Imagine a high-speed, soft mount 35 lb. capacity washer that dries in the same machine and only needs 41 inches in width to do it.”

“The team from M&L Supply was great,” says Marcia. “They helped us get up and running in one day!” From the first load she could see a big difference in the efficiency at her spa. “We don’t have to worry about laundry deliveries, damaged linens, or pay the high cost of outsourcing. We keep this machine running with an average of 5 complete loads a day, sometimes more.” Marcia is looking at less than a years return on investment based on her previous labor and outsourcing costs. Marcia states, “It’s a terrific machine. In retrospect, knowing what I know now about the spa business and laundry process, this would be my first major purchase.”
